Fifteen years of learning what actually works in UK gardens

We started vivid-buff in 2011 because we saw too many gardens suffering from inconsistent care and one-size-fits-all approaches. The belief that all lawns need the same treatment, or that timing doesn't matter much, was leading to disappointing results and wasted effort.

Our founder spent seven years working for a large garden maintenance company before breaking away to build something different. Not bigger or flashier. Just more attentive to what each garden actually needs.

Over fifteen years, we've refined our methods through direct experience with hundreds of properties across different soil types, exposures, and microclimates. We've learned which practices hold up during droughts, which interventions actually prevent problems rather than just treating symptoms, and how to read a garden's signals before issues become visible.

Our team

We employ twelve full-time garden care specialists, each with minimum five years of experience. Our team includes two horticulturists, a landscape designer, and specialists in irrigation systems and integrated pest management.

Everyone receives ongoing training in new techniques, plant varieties, and sustainable practices. We invest in professional development because the field keeps evolving, and standing still means falling behind.

Most of our team members have been with us for over four years. That continuity means they develop genuine familiarity with the gardens they maintain, noticing subtle changes and building relationships with our clients.

Our service philosophy

We believe professional garden care should be straightforward. You shouldn't need to chase us for updates or wonder whether work was completed properly. Communication should be clear, pricing should be transparent, and results should be obvious.

When problems arise, we address them directly. If we make a mistake, we fix it at our cost. If weather or unforeseen issues affect the schedule, you hear from us before you have to ask.

We currently serve properties across Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire, and West Sussex. Our service area is deliberately focused, allowing us to maintain consistent quality and reliable scheduling.

We work with residential gardens from small urban plots to larger country properties, as well as select commercial properties where ongoing maintenance matters for business presentation.
